The City of London is gripped with fear as a serial killer – dubbed The Limehouse Golem – is on the loose and leaving cryptic messages written in his victim’s blood. With few leads and increasing public pressure, Scotland Yard assigns the case to Inspector Kildare – a seasoned detective with a troubled past. However, he is faced with a long list of suspects and must get help from a witness who has legal troubles of her own, so he can stop the murders and bring the killer to justice.
This neo-noir science fiction film is a sequel to the sci-fi classic Blade Runner that was directed by Ridley Scott in 1982. The original film was misunderstood upon its initial release but grew in its influence as time went on and has had a lasting legacy on the science fiction genre. Much of the praise was aimed at the remarkable and unique visuals that were matched by the touching human story at its core, as well as its deep themes. The sequel is set thirty years after the events and follows the new blade runner, LAPD Officer K played by Ryan Gosling, who unearths a long buried secret; the remains of a once-pregnant replicant. In order to prevent a possible war between the humans and the replicants, K is secretly tasked with tracking down the child and destroying all evidence related to it.
